Sometimes people talk about suddenlys. Like when you labor for so long, and then suddenly everything starts to come together all at once.
I think we may have come upon one of our own suddenlys. We recently restructured as The Company, no small change in itself, but it seems that was just the beginning of the transformation!
One of our biggest struggles over the past five years has been finding a physical space for the work that we do. What we do is so unique, it’s hard to find space that will accommodate all of the different modes of our ministry.
We’ve tried to develop our own space, but have met one hurdle after another (all complicated by COVID when we were in the thick of it). We’ve tried to lease an appropriate space for the work we do, but again have met one barrier after another.
We’re blessed to lease a space right now. The landlord and the location are great, but the space itself isn’t ideal for our needs. We’re very thankful that God has provided it and we can complete our mission here, but it’s not yet a permanent home.
Then suddenly, something has happened.
We’re very excited to announce that we have purchased a building in downtown Cambridge, Ohio. This is going to be an ideal space for The Company! The best part—while it is in need of significant rehab, we can very realistically get this project done and move in with our new class of apprentices this fall!
Located at 303 N. 7th St., the building is an 1890 Victorian house. Over 4,500 square feet, with a third-floor turret and character in spades, it’s like something out of a storybook. This is the kind of house that writers dream of working in.

Best of all, it’s a great fit for our ministry. It has the right spaces for all of the things God has put on our hearts to do.
We are presently located in Zanesville, Ohio. This new space is located in the next town over in Cambridge, Ohio. In addition to the building itself, we think this new location will be a big step forward for our ministry.
Some wonderful things are happening spiritually in Cambridge. We have several ministry partners in Cambridge already that we believe will be real assets to our apprentices and everyone who comes to visit.
Cambridge is also a compact and walkable small town, which makes it easier for our apprentices and visitors to live, even if they don’t have their own car available.
This is new building is a win for our apprentices, a win for our programs, and a win for the Kingdom.
Celebrate with us and share this announcement!
Ready to help?
Would you like to participate in this project? Great! We’d love your help. There are a few ways that you can get involved.
Become a member
One of the best ways to support the work that we do is to become a paid member of The Company. Learn more and register here.
The paid memberships fund all of the work that we do.
Lend a hand
Do you have a skill that you’d like to contribute? Plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, carpentry, landscaping, painting, carrying things—you name it, we need it. Even if you don’t have a skill, if you have time and a little energy, we can put you to work.
We’ll be aggressively working on this project from now through August, so the sooner the better. Send us an email at info@writers.company or text us at (740) 624-9396 and let us know what you do. We’ll make the pieces fit.
Donate towards the renovations
Will you make a special gift to help bring this project to life? Whether you can give $5 or $5,000, every dollar helps.
Please use either of these buttons to make a donation:
Note that due to a limitation of the Stripe payment processing, you can only give recurring donations in increments of $10. To set a different amount, simply choose the quantity (marked “qty”) of $10 gifts you’d like to give each month.
You can also mail donations to us at The Company, 47 N. 4th St., Suite 204, Zanesville, OH 43701.
If you’d like to donate materials or other non-cash items, we’d love that! Please contact us at info@writers.company or (740) 624-9396 to make arrangements.
New Space, New Horizons
We are already working on this space, and we’re so excited to begin using this wonderful house this fall.
This decision to move was made with the support of our current apprentices. We’re all looking forward to the new opportunities that this location will provide.
Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for praying. We’ve been working hard towards this goal for a long time, and God is good. Just when you least expect it, suddenly amazing things can happen.
