What does it mean when Acts 2:42 says that the first church “devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching”?
They weren’t studying a book, they were learning directly from people who had spent time with Jesus.
That’s still God’s design for the Church today. The way we do church can look a lot of different ways–in a house, in a big building, under a tent–but we learn from those who have spent more time with Jesus.
The same is true for writers. It is good to learn from others. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
