I agree with a lot of Noah’s notes. I agree it looks really professional, I love the aesthetic.
I would remove the “Books” link from the menu until you have one. It doesn’t do you any good to sit there for now, and I think a blank page like that classifies you into an amateur category. Until you have a book, you’re a blogger, and that’s 100% valid to be.
Also, on the home page, the first screen has a cool photo and then a box that drops in. It looks cool, but it doesn’t bring any new information. The text in the box is just duplicated right below it. I think it’s great to always be confirming your identity, but I’d also like each element to bring new value. In one location or the other, it would make sense to confirm your name, since it’s a little bit difficult to read in the logo and I don’t think it appears anywhere else on the page.
