What are your favorite writing playlists? I am a fan of lofi for getting a lot of writing done!
I usually don’t listen to music when I write, but for whatever reason my latest work in progress has been a huge exception. I made a playlist specifically for it and it gets me so in the mood to write the story that it’s become a great tool. If I do continue to use music in the future, I think it will have to continue be in the context of a bespoke playlist for each story’s vibe.
Composer Thomas Bergersen. Some of my favorites are Flight of the Silverbird, Empire of Angels, and Immortal.
Lofi is great! I also love music soundtracks, like the Pride and Prejudice music or Howls Moving Castle. If you have spotify, they have a lot of writing instrumental music playlists on there to scroll through, too!
I don’t have a playlist per se, but I have a different song or style of music for each story world, and also for each 1st person pov character. (I find I can jump between 3rd person povs with the same music, but not 1st person.)
Southern Gospel is my go to. Some great stories are written into the songs

I love listening to music while I write! I generally just make one giant playlist and add instrumentals (how to train your dragon, pride and prejudice, pirates of the caribbean are some of my favs!), some christian songs that make me think of writing, and just some random bops that make me feel like part of the book!
