So, I’m doing the Ninety-Day Novel Challenge, but I’m struggling with brainstorming ideas. For a year or two my focus has been on a science-fantasy mythology I’m developing, and I can’t seem to switch gears. I’ve done a lot of worldbuilding and history outlining for it, and only just started working on the main character and her story. Should I just stick with it? If not, how do I switch gears? Since I currently can’t, everything that normally inspires me for new projects is just inspiring me further in the mythology.
Hey Sarah. Thanks for posting your question here.
I might be missing something, but is there any good reason that you shouldn’t continue with the idea that’s already consuming your mind?
If there’s not a compelling reason to switch, I’d put all of that background work to use and get ready to make some big headway on this project! 🙂
Thank you for that! I guess my thing was, we were discussing brainstorming ideas and when I could think of nothing but the current project I freaked out a little. This is a relief, ngl!
