Note to self regarding What if I’m not a good writer? James Thurber hit the nail on the head when he said, “There is no good writing, only rewriting.”

When I doubted if my writing was any good, someone  made a suggestion. “Go back and write out a chapter of your favorite novel.” (Keeping in mind this will add time to your one hour a day goal.) Especially if it is a series–find their very first book release. You may find their writing looks a lot like your writing on the page. I’ve always thought it would be interesting to read the famous author’s first draft. Then we’d see all the notes, cross-outs, and add–ins.

You’re learning an artform.

Don’t worry! It gets easier after your first million words. Keep at it!
