Hi,
I’m doing the 90 day novel challenge, and I want to write a novel where lots of years pass. How would you recommend that I do that since my story is not going to be really long?

This is such a good question!
Here’s the key: focus on specific moments in time, rather than generalizing long periods of time.
So instead of trying to summarize how things were for ten years, instead just develop one scene where something important happens, then jump to the next specific moment in time where the next important thing happens. If you write really immersive scenes in which we can see your characters, your reader will fill in the gaps between the scenes.
I hope that helps!
