At The Company, we’re serious about creating opportunities for better Christian fiction.

Judges is a complex book of the Bible. It’s a book that sometimes we’d rather ignore. It’s full of irony, moral ambiguity, and some really deep characters.

Those characters were real people. Actual human beings with thoughts, feelings, and back stories. That’s what we want to explore.

Applications are now open for Lawless.

Lawless is an anthology of short stories inspired by the biblical book of Judges. Selected authors will write a new story inspired by one of the judges of the Bible, all set in a near-future science fiction universe.

Lawless Book

Authors of all experience levels are invited to apply to this project today. Writers will be selected by September 11 and assigned a story to write based on one of the judges in the Bible.

All of the stories will be set in the same post-apocalyptic, sci-fi western universe. (Think Firefly or The Mandalorian.)

Interested writers can apply here. Note that you’ll need an account with The Company to apply. You can get one for free here.

Applications close September 11, 2023. There is no cost to apply.

From the back of the Lawless book:

Welcome to Covenant, a post-apocalyptic, dystopian earth where technological advancement has come to a jarring halt and resources are sparse. The journeymen, a group of people chosen by a mysterious deity called Donumdonair, must struggle through treacherous deserts inhabited by two tyrannical tribes. The fierce Desperados and The Order of Kosmoa. The Journeymen must fight against the destruction and desires of the world around them as they strive to survive.

Inspired by the Book of Judges, watch as Donumdonair chooses the most unlikely heroes to showdown with demons, triumph over armies, and fight the galactic battles that rage around and in them.
