Nobody is born knowing how to write. It’s a skill that needs to be developed.
You deserve professional support to bring your story to its full potential! Join us on September 22nd for a professional critique of your novel chapter or short story.
Director of The Company Brad Pauquette and bestselling author Alli Prince will personally review your novel chapter or short story. Together, they’ll respectfully critique your story and provide constructive counsel. There is no cost to participate.
During an online Zoom meeting open to all members of The Company, Brad and Alli will discuss how your story can improve, what needs to be changed, and what you’re doing well! Brad has more than 15 years of experience helping writers achieve top-tier results with their work. This is a fantastic opportunity to capture the benefit of his knowledge at no cost to you.
We’ve all wondered if our writing is any good or worth writing. Don’t let hesitation keep you from success. Submit your story for this critique session today! We’ll choose approximately five stories to critique at this session.
How to participate in this critique session
- Email a PDF of your short story or single novel chapter to workshop@writers.company no later than 12 p.m. ET on September 11th. Premium Members of The Company get priority when it comes to the stories that we choose for the critique. Not a Premium Member? Upgrade today!
- Attend the live Zoom critique session on Tuesday, September 22nd at 8pm ET.
- Implement the feedback you receive and take your work to the next level!
You may submit any genre of work. All submissions should be less than 5,000 words. If you’re submitting a chapter of a novel, please only submit the opening chapter, not the interior chapters.
When and where can I attend?
Everyone is invited to join us for the live critique session via Zoom on September 22nd at 8 p.m. ET, even if your story hasn’t been selected for critique. If you miss it, we’ll post a video of the session of the live meeting.
The full text of the stories Brad and Alli critique will be available to members of The Company, so that our members can follow along with the session and also learn from the feedback. Stories will not be made available to the general public. You can become a member here.
Now what?
It’s time to submit your story! This is a unique opportunity for you to grow as a writer and bring your story to its full potential. Don’t miss out on the chance to receive professional feedback on your work!
Wow. I’m very excited for this! I recently did a facelift on my opening chapters based on feedback I received from others and the understanding I gained from the 90-day-challenge, so (should I be chosen), this would be very helpful! Thank you!
Fantastic. Make sure to submit ASAP. 🙂
Can I submit an essay less than 2000 words?
Yes! That’s fine.
I am writing a three part novel. So would I send the part one or the chapter one in part one?
I had a difficult novel I wanted to submit but when my phone stopped working it deleted that one.
Hi Lori. Just submit the first chapter of the whole thing. If the chapter is very short, you may submit two chapters, but please don’t submit anything more than the first 5,000 words of the novel.
Thank you.
For submissions from outside the US, are Australian spelling and punctuation conventions ok, or would you prefer them switched to US prior to submitting?
It doesn’t matter. We’ll be assessing the content of the story, not proofreading or copy editing issues. I think we can muddle through an extra u or two. 🙂
