Hey!
How do you write action with dialog without it being choppy? Like, how would one write about a character who, say practicing jiu-jitsu with another character while they have a conversation?
Thanks so much!
Natalia.

Hi Natalia,
Great question! I learned an exercise from Tricia Goyer that helped me understand how to write action/dialogue/description without loosing the flow of thought.
It goes like this:
- Take a book (a really good one) from your genre and print out a few pages.
- Highlight all the action in one color, all the dialogue in another, all the description in another, and all the narration in another.
- Take a look at how the story flows back and forth between them.
- Emulate it.
Let me know if that helps!
