What do you think about retelling?
Now I work with children with social difficulties and tell them my stories, because they can’t stand long readings – they lose concentration, etc.
However, when retelling, many of the artistic qualities are lost.
However, I think that retelling also has many good qualities, if done well – mostly because of the constant contact and opportunity for dialogue.
And we use it anyway when presenting our books.
What do you think about this?
And one last question – Has anyone used their books for something like narrative therapy?
I don’t think it’s wrong for you to tell the story in a specific moment in the style or depth the moment calls for it, then end up writing it another way, if that’s what you’re asking. Nor do I think it’s wrong for you to rewrite it if you feel called to do it differently (for example, you are having second thoughts because you prefer the way you’re telling it versus how you wrote it originally).
Write it as you like, tell it as you like. It is YOUR creation! Have joy in it whatever way you engage with it– God had joy in creation, and He also had rest time from it. However, if doing this is stressing you out, maybe don’t. Not every project is something that needs to be shared, either. Some things we write just for ourselves.
That said, I think we might have a bit of a language barrier here, as I’m having difficulty getting your point… so if my point doesn’t make sense, it’s a problem on my end. 😅 Good luck for your future endeavors with your story! 😁
