Can I be real about something? I’m sick of being sent to Facebook groups and Discord servers for “community” and “support.”
Don’t get me wrong, we have our share of Facebook groups at The Company and they can be helpful. But it’s no substitute for meeting together with real people.
In my publishing career, I have seen over and over again that writers that routinely meet with other writers are more productive, successful, and happy.
One of the things that makes The Company unique is how much we actually get together. Whether it’s for our in-person apprenticeship program, or our online ProCritiques and Prose Club, we’re serious about really doing stuff together. I love to see you guys!
That face-to-face component is part of how God has made our group, and it’s been such a blessing. Let’s lean into that.
Starting now, we’re introducing “Live Groups.” These are live online meetings with real people, to support you on your writing journey.

Each of these groups will meet at least once per month. In the beginning, many of these groups will be led by me. All of them will always be led by published authors with real knowledge and experience.
All of these groups are included at no extra charge with a Premium Membership, which costs just $50 per month. You can attend all of them if you’d like for the one monthly membership cost.

We’re going to ease into the schedule over the summer. Vote for what you like with your attendance.
For groups that are well attended, we’ll schedule more of them. Or we’ll spin off new groups with even more specific topics. (For instance, we may split drafting and revising into two separate groups.) If there’s a group that you’d like to be a part of in the future, attend the closest version now.
The Premium Membership is for writers who are serious about making big progress with their work. It’s not about skill level or experience, it’s about commitment.
There is no Discord server or Facebook group that can compete with real human interaction to propel you towards your goals.
